Isaiah 41:10

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.” (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Four Promises:

#1—Do not fear, for I am with you.

Genesis 39:21—God was with Joseph.

Exodus 13:21-22—a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire

Daniel 3:24-25—with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego

Matthew 1:23—Immanuel, God with us

#2—Do not be dismayed for I AM your God.

Dismayed—anxious; overwhelmed; depressed and dejected; ready to give up.

Joshua 1:9—

Philippians 4:6-7–

#3—I will strengthen you and help you.

#4—I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 20:6—God’s right hand

Jeremiah 29:11—

God’s strength and power

God’s authority and sovereignty

God’s divine justice

God’s protection and deliverance

Repent!

Text: Matthew 3:1-2; Matthew 4:17; 2 Peter 3:9

Scripture Reading: Psalm 138:1-2 “I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.” (NLT)

Repentance: Turning away from sin and turning towards God.

#1— 2 Corinthians 7:10—There is no salvation without repentance.

#2— John 16:8, 13—God has given us His Holy Spirit to help us repent.

#3—2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 5:25—As we repent, God makes us new and we can keep in step with the Holy Spirit.

#4—Isaiah 43:18-19—Not does repentance lead us away from our sinful past, but it leads us into the new ways of God for our lives.

#5—Psalm 139:23-24—Repentance us keeps our lives “clean” from sin and the clutter of this world.

#6—Luke 15:18-20—Repentance restores and brings joy.

Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 20:11-15

Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:4-6 “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.” (NLT)

Jesus spoke of Hell over thirty times in the Gospels.

Hell—also known as:

  • Hades—
  • Sheol—
  • Gahenna—
  • Tartarus—

Mark 9:43—Hell is such a terrible place.

  • The worm does not die.
  • The fire is not quenched.

Revelation 20:10—Is Satan in charge of Hell?

Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-19—Where did Satan come from?

Revelation 12:7-9—Satan’s rebellion started a war in Heaven.

So, what does this mean for me?

Deuteronomy 5:33 “You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.”
