Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 31:6 “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (NLT)

Deuteronomy 6:4-9—The Shema

Soul: In the Bible, the “soul” refers primarily to the entire living person rather than a separate, immortal part of a human. It is the “living being” or “life force” that God breathed into man, encompassing their consciousness, emotions, desires, and physical vitality. The Hebrew word for soul, nephesh, and the Greek word, psyche, both signify a living, breathing creature.

Mark 12:28-29–A revolutionary statement from Jesus.

Scribes, Sadducees, & Pharisees

Our Soul—

Our life—who we are when no one is looking.

Loving God with all our soul:

          No higher priority.

Willing to give up our own dreams and plans.

Willing to give our resources for His Kingdom.

Romans 12:1—to become a “living sacrifice.”

A “reasonable service.”

A “God centered life.”

Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (MEV)
